2016 Chief Organizers
Christy is a second-year MISt student interested in Knowledge Management and Information Technology. Her interest in the MISt program sparked when working abroad with a NGO dedicated to creating libraries and reading spaces for elementary school in rural China. Christy is now a Children’s Librarian with New York Public Library, at the Chatham Square Branch in the heart of Chinatown.
Kayleigh is a second-year MISt student with special interests in public librarianship, digital libraries, and ICT. This is her second year with InfoNexus, managing the conference’s social media presence.
Kristen is a second-year MISt student at McGIll with interests in Archives and Academic Librarianship. With a background in History and English Literature, Kristen hopes to spread her love of history and reading through future work in the Information field. This is Kristen’s second year working with InfoNexus and she is dedicated to connecting students, faculty, and professionals in the collaborative Information field.
Meghan is a second-year MISt student and a PhD candidate in music theory at McGill University. Her interdisciplinary research interests include information technology, digital humanities, and academic librarianship. Meghan is delighted to be part of the InfoNexus team, with a goal to provide an interactive venue fostering collaboration and networking opportunities for information professionals and students.
Liz is a first-year MISt student interested in Knowledge Management. During her time at The University of Western Ontario, she helped organize several large-scale events and advocacy projects. She is excited to work with the other volunteers to bring dynamic speakers to campus for a great day of professional networking and engagement.
Annette is currently a second-year student in the Masters of Information Studies program at McGill University. Although she is interested in the Information Technology side of the program, Libraries and Archives have drawn her in as well; she has always been a Jack of all Trades and unable to commit to one specific field (Which makes InfoNexus a perfect fit for her extracurricular interests). She’s considering becoming a Map Librarian, which would fit her background in Geography, Environmental Science, and Geographic Information Systems, but perhaps one of the speakers at InfoNexus will present on an entirely different job in the field and she will sway in a new direction.
Patricia is a second-year MISt student most interested in archival work. She is committed to facilitating productive public access to archives. Aspiring to work in the archives of a government agency, she hopes to one day help preserve social and political heritage through transparent and objective access to information.
Patricia is eager to collaborate with the InfoNexus team and excited to bring together a diverse selection of information specialists at this year’s conference.
