Michael Groenendyk to speak at Web 2.U 2014

Exciting news – Michael Groenendyk will be one of Web 2.U’s featured speakers!

The newly hired business librarian for the Concordia University Libraries, Michael has a background in both business intelligence and computer science.

From 2011-2013 he led a project, in part funded by a Canadian Association of Research Libraries’ grant, to implement a 3D printing service at the Dalhousie University Libraries in Halifax, Nova Scotia. As part of this project he also led the creation of an open-access, online archive of 3D models, which – in large part – consisted of 3D scans of historic objects from local museum collections.

In addition to 3D printing and scanning, his research has explored the potential for other related technologies, such as 3D animation and holographic projection, to be used as educational tools.
