Karen Nicholson from McMaster University will talk about the role of information literacy programs in the efforts of academic librarians to assure and improve the quality of library reference services. Her presentation “Relevant, reflective and effective: Instructional Literacy for IL Practitioners” will explore the responsibilities of information professionals on various stages of the academic research process.

Rajiv Johal is the Finance and Economics Librarian at Concordia University. He is also teaches a Business Information course at the School of Information Studies at McGill University. Prior to joining Concordia Libraries, he worked as a business liaison librarian at the Howard Ross Library (called McGill’s Humanities and Social Sciences Library as of 2015) at McGill University. His research interests lie in the area of financial literacy and in using social media as a research tool.
